Who We Are

owenteaching1First and foremost, the VTDSP is made up by its scholars from diverse racial/ethnic backgrounds who are in school to become teachers in Vermont public schools. It’s also the program alumni who are already teaching in schools around our state, bringing the added perspective of cultural diversity to public school classrooms.

The VTDSP employs an Executive Director/Statewide Diversity Coordinator and also supports an Administrative Assistant, backed by a capable Board of Directors whose credentials cut across a broad array of education-related agencies.

The VTDSP is also built upon strong collaborative relationships with Vermont institutions for higher education, local school districts and supervisory unions, and a range of community partners.
